Introduction
Welcome to Laureate International Tech and Academy (henceforth referred to as "Laureate"). These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Academy's online registration portal, Learning Management System (LMS), AI lecturer "Maki AI", and any associated services, including complimentary courses provided by the Academy. By registering on our portal, you agree to be bound by these terms, which form a legally binding agreement between you and the Academy.
Data Protection and Privacy
a. Laureate is committed to safeguarding your privacy. Personal information collected during the registration and subsequent use of our services will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which outlines our practices concerning data collection, use, and security.
b. You consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of administration, education, and as required by law.
c. Laureate implements industry-standard data protection measures to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, and misuse.
Access to Learning Management System
a. Upon successful registration, you will be granted access to our LMS. This platform is the conduit through which you will interact with course materials, fellow learners, and instructors.
b. Laureate reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate access to the LMS at any time without prior notice, due to technical maintenance, system updates, or breaches of these terms.
Use of Maki AI Lecturer
a. Maki AI is an artificial intelligence-enhanced tool provided to support your learning experience. You are authorized to use Maki AI solely for educational purposes as part of your registered courses.
b. Any attempts to reverse engineer, misuse, or otherwise exploit Maki AI for unapproved purposes will result in immediate termination of your access to Academy resources.
Complementary Courses
a. Laureate offers a selection of complimentary courses, accessible through your LMS account. These courses are subject to the same terms of use as paid courses.
b. No certification or accreditation will be provided for these free courses unless otherwise specified.
Account Upgrade and Payment Plans
a. Should you choose to upgrade your account or opt into any of our payment plans for advanced courses or services, additional terms and conditions will apply. These will be provided at the time of upgrade and must be agreed to prior to commencement of the upgraded service.
General Use
a. You agree to use the Academy’s resources, including the LMS and Maki AI, in a manner that is ethical, lawful, and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
b. Any unauthorized use of the Academy's resources, including but not limited to sharing login credentials, fraudulent activity, or conduct that disrupts the learning environment, will result in termination of your access.
Modifications to Terms
a. Laureate reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be notified of any significant changes and continued use of the Academy's services will constitute your acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Laureate is registered. Disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of this jurisdiction.
